(WBR) uses an innovative business model to create sustainable bicycle ecosystems. Through WBR’s 501(c)3, we provide transport solutions to those who cannot afford them, and through Buffalo Bicycle Limited, we sell the rugged Buffalo Bicycle and spare parts. Buffalo Bicycle Limited also offers users repair and maintenance services via a retail network of shops and local mechanics. WBR has distributed over 560,000 fit-for-purpose bicycles and trained 2,500+ community-based mechanics. Girls with Buffalo Bicycles are 19% less likely to drop out of school; dairy farmers earn 23% more income, and health workers reach 88% more patients.  


About the Position

The fundraising operations coordinator will provide operational and fulfillment support for World Bicycle Relief’s fund development team (marketing and fundraising). This part-time, temporary position is funded for six months, with potential of expanding to a permanent hire.


The coordinator will work from the Chicago office. Estimated time commitment is 15-20 hours per week, potentially flexing up to 25-30 during quarterly peaks.



  • Coordination, assembly and shipping of materials and packages
  • Supporting donor thank you processes, including handwritten notes
  • Daily oversight of general communications channels for US/Canada offices, including email inboxes, voice mailboxes, incoming mail, and packages
  • Utilize standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency when responding to donor inquiries
  • Triage incoming communications amongst existing global teams
  • Coordinate merchandise and promotions inventory and fulfillment
  • Coordination of World Bicycle Relief ‘shop’ and its inventory/fulfillment
  • Tracking inventory across platforms and fulfillment partners (Shopify, Printify, Ship My Orders) for organization-wide visibility.


  • Highly motivated and organized to support multiple team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and take initiative as needed
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion maintaining integrity, honesty, and ethics
  • Proficiency in standard office procedures and software (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Asana, Google suite – proficiency in Salesforce a plus).
